The second stop on our whirlwind honeymoon was in beautiful Lake Como. I wish words could describe how gorgeous this place is, but for me, it was more of a feeling. The moment we entered the gates of Villa D’Este, I felt like a movie star out of an old Hollywood film. The resort is a mixture of old and new, classic and modern.
Our room was idyllic – very Italian romance with a touch of modernism. And the balcony? Well, that was my favorite part! Espresso and croissants out there every morning, watching the sunrise. I couldn’t get enough of it – the scenery, the quietness, and the fresh air. I truly felt like royalty staying here.

The next day, we took a drive along the water and caught a boat over to the famous Bellagio. We spent a couple of hours walking the famous little town, stopping for pictures, pizza and of course, gelato. If you’re in Lake Como, definitlely work checking out for a couple of hours! The views and scenery are breathtaking.
Found the cutest wine shop (I know how to seek them out) and loved walking the streets.

The rest of our trip was pure relaxation. We layed by the floating pool, walked into the town of Cernobbio, took a boat out around the lake looking at all of the amazing real estate, walked the resort grounds, ate lots of pasta, and drank lots of Prosecco and Aperol Spritz. It was perfect.
We are real estate junkies (especially my husband), so it was no question we wanted to take a boat tour to see all of the amazing lakefront homes – including George Clooney’s! We also cruised far enough up the lake where we could get a good shot of the Swiss Alps, cruising by a number of different beautiful towns dotted along the lake.

This place was a once in a lifetime (hopefully not!), but it so special and everyone here truly makes sure you feel that way. Thank you, Villa D’Este for making part of our honeymoon dreams come true!
