Rome – the city of visible history, where the past of a whole hemisphere seems moving in funeral procession with strange ancestral images and trophies gathered from afar. -George Eliot
My very first time to Europe and it was to the Eternal City. I couldn’t imagine a more perfect spot to start my European travels. Rome is chaotic – combination of elegance and ruin – a city so rich in history, you’re overwhelmed with emotion. The city was everything and nothing I had imagined. We spent a few short days here and tried to pack in as much as we could, and it felt like we only touched the surface. Of course, we hit all the major landmarks – the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and so much more. This is a place we will return to many times over and still fall in love each time. Rome is magical city.

Roman evenings with a spectacular sunset

Piazza di Spagna

My favorite – Piazza di Trevi
The Vatican
The Vatican. Wow. I wish I could express just how beautiful it is. Walking through, you are overcome with powerful feelings of joy, love, and sadness. The history in this place is unbelievable. Growing up Catholic, this was extra close to my heart. However, even if you are not a religious person, this is a must in Rome. We did a private early morning tour – before the doors open to the public. I suggest if you want to see the Vatican to only do a private tour. This was such a special moment that I will never forget.

Roman nights

Piazza di Trevi during the day. I don’t know which I love more – the day or evening version of this fountain. It is definitely my favorite landmark in Rome. There’s something so magical about it. When we saw it for the first time, it gave me goosebumps. It is such a beautiful monument.

The Pantheon

We were here for the Engel & Völkers Top Agent trip and they surprised us with a special tour of the city in classic cars. I felt like I was in an old foreign movie! The views were amazing.

They then took us to a secret location for the awards and dinner with the most breathtaking views of Rome at sunset.

It was the perfect way to end our whirlwind time in the Eternal City.
Back to the Trevi Fountain please 😎
