Aspen is the life to live, see how much there is to give. See how strongly you believe, see how much you may receive. –John Denver
The last few years, Paul and I have taken a trip to celebrate our birthdays (since they are right around the holidays). So this year, Paul surprised me with a ski weekend in the beautiful town of Aspen! Yes, we escaped our little ski town for another. Why not? I instantly fell in love the moment we drove in.

We stayed right in the heart of town at the famous Hotel Jerome. Beautiful hotel with a classic western cowboy charm. With the holidays, the inside of the hotel was so beautifully decorated! If you visit Aspen, I highly recommend staying here. You are right in the heart of town, walking distance to everything, and shuttle service to take you to the different resorts from the hotel. Plus, you have their own fantastic restaurants and bars – including the J Bar, The Living Room, and the speakeasy Bad Harriet. I recommend checking them all out!

As soon as we got settled in, we immediately went to the famous “J Bar” for a light lunch, which obviously included splitting their burger.

We loved walking around downtown, checking out all the shops and galleries. Walking to dinner was probably our favorite – with all of the twinkling lights and fresh snow.

This town has the most amazing food scene, and trying to choose a restaurant was overwhelming in the most positive way ever. Thankful for our friends who gave us a long list of options, which meant we really couldn’t go wrong! Our first night, we dined at a local’s favorite – Ellina. A hidden gem in the heart of downtown.

Our ski days were spent on Aspen Mountain. Perfect long blue runs for this gal! It also happened to be snowing, so we were blessed with some fresh powder! This mountain offers some of the most incredible scenery, which made skiing that much more enjoyable.

Lunch was at Ajax Tavern both days – one of the popular lunch and aprés spots at the base of the mountain.
A magical Aspen winter wonderland.

Dinner at Matsuhisa. We couldn’t come to Aspen and not go to Nobu! It’s definitely a scene and probably some of the best people watching.

Post-dinner drinks at the famous and exclusive Caribou Club.

Our final evening in Aspen, we went to another favorite local spot. Le Creperie has topped our list as one of our favorite restaurants! The food was amazing and the atmosphere was absolutely perfect. We felt like we had just been transported to Europe. It’s underground and tiny, giving you a very warm and cozy vibe. It was the perfect way to end our perfect ski weekend.

Cheese fondue with black truffle is a must and absolutely worth it!

Thank you to everyone at Hotel Jerome for making our birthday weekend so special!

My favorite ski trip ever! ❤️ With my favorite adventure buddy! ❤️❤️❤️
