MYKONOS
The Branco had one of the best breakfasts! Everything was fresh and the portions were smaller, which I like… plus that meant you could order more to try all of the delicious eats ;). Not pictured is the amazing rice pudding vanilla with cinnamon – SO.GOOD.
Our good friend recommended this restaurant, Spilia. He suggested we go for a late afternoon lunch, however we opted or a later dinner. This place is INCREDIBLE!!! The atmosphere is worth it alone. It’s set in a cave right on the water and they actually catch the fish right there! We watched a guy picking fish right out of the water by our table. Romantic dinner spot with all of the mood lighting. The walk down to the restaurant is equally as cool. Highly recommend!
Our concierge at Branco Hotel gave us a list of recommended restaurants and one she highly recommended was Katrin’s. Located in the heart of Mykonos Town, Katrin’s felt like real authentic Greek cuisine! The spot’s Greek Grandmother was there serving food and giving you her very honest opinion on which items to order. I loved it. Every moment of it – from the time you walk into the restaurant to the very last bite of dessert.
Our last dinner in Mykonos was at MatsuhisaMatsuhisa. Yes, we found a Nobu and went to it! It might not be “authentic Greek” food but we knew the quality of the fish would be the fantastic – and it was. Plus, the atmosphere was pretty amazing, as well.
SANTORINI
The food at the Grace Hotel is some of the best we’ve ever had! I am still dreaming of both their breakfast and dinner. They have a five-course breakfast menu that changes daily! You don’t have to opt for that – but when in Greece, right?! Why not! And I’m so glad we did it. It was fantastic.
Dinner at Santoro was by far one of the greatest dining experiences of our lives! And we eat out A LOT. We were very fortunate to have the best seat in the house! A corner table with the most spectacular sunset views. So on top of having the best sunset viewing point on all of Santorini, the food was exceptional! The chef combines classic Greek ingredients with a French flare. My mouth is still salivating just thinking about it. If you visit Santorini, Santoro is an absolute must!
Thank you Greece for your fantastic local cuisine! We have always loved Mediterranean food, but now we have a greater appreciation for it. Thank you!
