Wine has been a part of civilized life for some seven thousand years. It is the only beverage that feeds the body, soul and spirit of a man and at the same time stimulates the mind. -Robert Mondavi
My husband and I were fortunate to have the opportunity to attend this year’s Napa Wine Auction. We had absolutely no idea what to expect, but the two days we attended blew our minds! All of the money raised during the auction is to fund and support local nonprofit organizations.
Friday was the Napa Valley Barrel Auction held at the gorgeous Louis M. Martini Winery. Multiple rooms filled with Napa Valley’s best wines all there for you to taste and bid, plus fabulous canapés from the region’s best restaurants. It was a little overwhelming as there are hundreds of barrels to taste from – talk about self control and pacing yourself! But I have to admit, walking up to the entrance was like walking into a dream filled with all of the food and wine you could ever imagine. If Friday was this amazing, we could not wait for Saturday’s main event!

Saturday was the Live Auction Celebration at the gorgeous Meadowood Winery. The weather was perfect, the wine was flowing and there was enough food to keep you full until next Sunday. It was absolutely perfect.
We were invited to a lovely pre-party at The Napa Valley Reserve where we met some of the top vintners in the industry and enjoyed some amazing Krug Champagne.

The event was set up with multiple tents featuring world-class wine and food, along with all 30 lots up for auction. Here are some of the epic wines we were fortunate to drink this weekend:
Saintsbury, William Cole, Tor, Robert Mondavi, Opus One, Dalla Valle, Joseph Phelps Insignia, Accendo, Cliff Lede, Shafer, Heitz, Mount Veeder, and Napa Valley Reserve’s reserve wine.

A private concert by Katy Perry – she was amazing! I love concerts in a smaller and more intimate setting, and this was perfect!

Beautiful dinner from the amazing and talented chef Michael Mina and his family of restaurants, including superstar Ayesha Curry from International Smoke!
We feel so honored to have been part of this fantastic experience – the wine, food, and people. A very memorable time! Thank you to everyone you made this weekend so wonderful!
