For our first wedding anniversary, my husband and I spent a long weekend at Calistoga Ranch in Napa Valley, which is where we happened to get married. Every day was spent pool-side with a crisp and refreshing glass of Chardonnay (after a morning bike ride, of course) and the evenings were spent dining at some of wine country’s best restaurants.
Calistoga Ranch definitely spoiled us for our anniversary – starting with a bottle of champagne and sweet notes from our friends at the ranch.
Let’s not forget our fabulous lodge. The outdoor shower, being my favorite feature.
A pre-dinner snack at the Ranch’s Lakehouse Restaurant Bar – their papas bravas and they were delicious.
Our first night we had dinner at one of our other favorite spots in Napa Valley – Solbar at Solage, another Auberge Resort. Solbar is definitely a top 3 spot for us – their food is divine, the atmosphere is romantic and casual (wine country casual), and the service is impeccable.

Breakfast at the Lakehouse is the perfect way to kick off your day. Sitting out on their deck, with an espresso just taking in the gorgeous views is so peaceful and relaxing.
Days were spent soaking up some much needed vitamin D by the pool, after a morning bike ride of course.
Dinner at Press St. Helena, which is a fabulous steakhouse.

For our anniversary day it was all about relaxation, eating, and wining.

Before dinner at the Lakehouse, we popped the bottle of Schramsberg Champagne and walked down to the vineyard where we got married one year ago.

Ventured back over to Solbar, but this time for brunch. I have to say, this place has the best brunch – food and atmosphere.
You can’t go to Napa and not do a wine tasting! We used our annual tasting at Quintessa for our anniversary weekend and it was well worth it – a private tasting in a glass room overlooking the vineyard… spectacular! We were even lucky to take home a half bottle their own Cabernet Sauvignon, which is only available for tastings.
